This work 'Aesthetics of Ordered Chaos' functions in a digital realm, through the use of prescribed shapes and colour and the application of a precise instructional code. Visual elements are combined to generate images, each developed through meticulous randomized instructions. The visual components that make up the imagery are continually refreshed and rearranged and each pattern is quickly superseded by another. Each image is unique.
By experiencing this balance of opposites – apparent chaos and apparent order, viewers are encouraged to reflect on how to discover order in a complex and ever-changing world, and to perceive the harmony within disorder. This is not just a visual presentation but a profound interpretation of natural laws and philosophical thought.
In the works of artist Wassily Kandinsky, each colour and shape is endowed with unique emotional significance. Red symbolizes passion and energy, while blue conveys tranquillity and contemplation. His seemingly chaotic contrasts of colours and shapes create a sense of rhythm and harmony in the visual experience, much like the melody and chords in music.
This work brings a set of parameters to the arrangement of colour and shape as a way of re-appraising daily sights in the world around us. During rush hour in a large city, for example, although the flow of vehicles and pedestrians may appear chaotic, traffic signals, road rules, and people's driving habits collectively create a dynamic order. 'Aesthetics of Ordered Chaos' presents the viewer with an equivalent randomized order and apparent chaos.
