Artist Statement

I am fine artist, tending to things in sculpture, photography, digital media, film. I am happy to work with any material that speaks to me. It can be stone, clay, rusty chairs. It's important for me to use or recycle sustainable materials, to rethink objects that are no longer used and breathe new life into them.
I am most interested in the concept of time, existence, non-existence, identity, freedom and modern slavery and it is within this theme that I write and create my artworks.

Although the themes of my work are serious and very deep and thoughtful, often shocking, I like to inject some humour or irony into my work. Because these works deal with the themes of our everyday existence, our creation, our passing and I feel that we deserve a few moments of serenity.

My intention is to create artwork that compels the audience to pause—both in movement and thought—inviting them to reflect on a profound truth: we are all made of the same fundamental material. This shared materiality connects us not only to each other but to the cosmos itself. The universe, as we understand it, emerged approximately 13.7 billion years ago in an event we call the Big Bang. In that moment, all the matter that constitutes our bodies, the Earth, and every object around us was forged. From the atoms in our cells to the particles that form distant stars, everything traces its origin to this singular point of creation.
Through my art, I aim to highlight this interconnectedness. While we may perceive ourselves as individual and unique entities, we are in fact part of a much larger, cohesive whole. This paradox of unity and uniqueness lies at the core of existence.

To evoke this concept in my work, I consciously employ a diverse range of materials and manipulate light in ways that are designed to challenge the viewer's perception.
